“Eros, Plus Motion” takes fragments of the novel “The Lover” by Marguerite Duras to ask about images and the elusive nature of memory. In the film “La erosión acelerada de estas rocas en verano”, a woman returns to her homeland after many years of absence, finding no sense of belonging. Both the film and the text were developed in parallel, bringing forth the question of the relationship between words and images, which is central to Elisa Juri’s work.

Warme Stellen & Pizza Orlando – Film Screening and Reading by Julia Tielke and Clara Umbach

The work of Clara Umbach and Julia Tielke has been intertwined for quite some time. While writing the book “Pizza Orlando,” the film “Warme Stellen” was created, which uses fictional and documentary elements to explore the themes of creative work, heartbreak, and motherhood. During this time, the film and the novel influenced each other; similar motifs appear in both works and mirror one another.
We are delighted to bring those dialogues between the artists and their different disciplines to life in a joint evening event and to discuss it further. Before each event starts, we invite you to pasta with gorgonzola.
Gorgofilm Kollektiv is a collective and open network of Hamburg-based filmmakers who support each other’s creative processes through mutual exchange and organize screenings.
