„On the other side“
Firewood, rice, oil, salt, soy sauce, vinegar and tea – these are the ingrediences for „On the other side“. According to a Taiwanese proverb, these are the seven necessities for a good life. They display a movement of breathing, the fluctuation of black and white, of light and dark, of peaceful and daily live, finding the power of silence in our mind to face the bustle of the every day.
Yi-Jou Chuang (*1988, Taipei) studied painting in Taipei. Since 2013 she studies and lives in Hamburg and creates sceneries for theatre and performance productions. With this exhibition, she will come back to her paintings and show a new drawings series and an installation.
